7 HAIR CARE TIPS FOR FULLER, SILKIER, HEALTHIER TRESSES

The first thing that pops into mind whenever we’re getting ready for a meeting, be it offline or online, or before we are photographed or filmed, "Does my hair look okay?"

It's the part of our body that we are most self-conscious of. Why? Because it is our "brand," as it represents our individuality and personality. But most importantly, by taking care of our hair, we will achieve an overall look of health and youthfulness.

You know the feeling when you’re having a great hair day— you feel absolutely great. The state of your hair affects your mood and your confidence. Even now in this pandemic age, when we spend most of our days quarantined and away from the public eye, we are still affected by how our hair behaves.

If you’re experiencing hair fallout, hair loss, dandruff, itchy scalp, dry and brittle hair, or split ends, then there’s something about your hair care routine that you’re not doing right. Your hair is your permanent crown, and if you want to regain that sense of power by sporting a beautiful, healthy hair, then we’re here to give you 7 hair care tips to achieve fuller, silkier and healthier locks.

1. Wash it right

Are you fond of hot showers? Well, bad news. This is the reason why your hair doesn’t look healthy. Washing your tresses with hot water is harmful as it removes oil (or natural fat) from your scalp—and oil is responsible for protecting our hair. Instead of hot water, wash your hair with warm-to-almost-cold water, especially on your last rinse. Cold water seals the hair cuticle; therefore, making your hair strong and shiny.

If you already have damaged hair, we highly recommend using Rausch Amaranth Repair Serum. It is designed to regenerate and repair ruined hair. The product deeply infuses your hair with its special formula of amaranth, argan and abssynian oil, which will restore your hair’s natural shine and elasticity.

2. Dry your hair the correct way

How do you dry your hair? Do you rub it with a towel? Wrong move, because this will damage your hair. Instead, air dry your wet tresses, or simply wrap your hair in a towel so that it absorbs moisture.

3. Avoid catastrophic combing

Do not brush your hair while it's still damp—it must be always done when your hair is completely dry. And always choose great quality brushes; avoid sharp-tooth combs as they can cut the ends of your hair. A wide-tooth comb is the ideal pick.

And did you know that the correct way of brushing your hair is not from root to tip? You actually have to start off the bottom, then carefully work your way up with short strokes. Because if you start from the root, you can pull strands of hair out of the follicle, which will result in hair damage or breakage.

4. Save that falling hair

There are many reasons why you're experiencing hair fallout or hair loss. It could be hereditary, or due to aging. Another reason for handfuls of hair coming off when washing or combing is emotional distress or trauma. But don't fret, as picking the right anti-hair loss shampoo can restore the strength of your hair and regenerate its fullness—or basically save you from losing more hair. Try our hair-saver, the Sebamed Anti Hair Loss Shampoo. It reduces progressive hair loss by removing that excess oil from your hair and scalp. We also recommend that you talk with your doctor about the cause of your hair loss.

5. Do not ignore dandruff

It's not just about the gross sight of white flakes on your hair and on your shirt, but dandruff should be eliminated for other hair-care reasons. For one, if you're constantly scratching your scalp, it can damage hair follicles, and worse, could lead to some hair loss. Dandruff is a mild form of seborrheic dermatitis and this issue can easily be resolved with Bioderma Node DS+ Shampoo, an intensive treatment shampoo for severe dandruff and Seborrheic Dermatitis on the scalp. Its DSactive Patent Complex which combines, Piroctone Olamine and Zinc Pyrithione, take care of persistent dandruff, by eliminating Malassezia yeast, preventing recurrence, while Salicylic Acid exfoliates or facilitates elimination of scales. It also instantly and quickly relieves itching of the scalp while it completely cleanses without drying the hair, thanks to its non-detergence formula.

Another anti-dandruff that we swear to be effective is Sebamed Anti-dandruff Shampoo for its mild wash active substances, which gently cleanse the hair and scalp. The product's Climbazole content dislodges dandruff flakes, eliminating irritation and inflammation.

6. Condition properly

Using hair conditioner helps make your hair manageable, lustrous, and even look straight. It also shields your hair from environmental aggressors and protects it from heat styling. But are you applying your conditioner properly?

Conditioner should be applied not on the scalp — but on the tips of your hair. Also, wring out excessive water out of your hair before applying conditioner, as this will help fully penetrate and coat your hair fiber. Conditioning your hair while it’s dripping wet will merely cause the product to slide off. Our favorite conditioner to achieve silky, beautiful hair is Sebamed Hair Repair Conditioner, which pierces deep into the hair and promotes moisture balance and prevents hair breakage.

7. Do not shampoo every day

While you may believe that shampooing daily makes you hygienic, then you’re wrong. Using shampoo every single day can dehydrate and damage your hair. Washing your hair daily will strip your hair of its natural oils, which in turn can cause breakage and hair fall. If your hair is not oily, then shampoo your hair just once or twice a week.

By immediately following these simple hair care tips, you will soon be on the path to achieving healthy, beautiful hair — and a more confident you. Remember, gorgeous hair always leaves a good impression, and even proves that you’re taking care of your overall health.
