What is desquamation and how can you treat it?

The epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin and the one responsible for the generation of skin cells. It forms in the depths of the epidermis where cells form, migrate, produces keratin, and push upward into the surface to shed. This process is called desquamation.

While a natural occurring phenomenon, desquamation can also combated by certain active ingredients in skincare products. Bioderma, for example, has ceramides that strengthen the skin barrier while retaining its moisture and hydration.

For starters, the Bioderma Sebium Hydra can be a good moisturizer in the morning. It’s light enough to be used as a primer before your make-up so as to prevent the thickening of sebum which your skin will produce as a reaction to layers of products sitting at the top of your skin. This is the premise of the Fluidactiv™ patented complex, which is unique to Bioderma and will minimize the forming of blemishes caused by pores that cannot breathe.

It can be combined with the Atoderm Intensive Baume in the evening as a comfort factor to your skin after being exposed to agitators and pollutants by reducing inflammation.

One thing that made Bioderma popular since its inception is its non-alteration of the skin. It has exclusively diagnosed the common problematic skin issues and targeted it with expert and careful formulation that does not destroy the skin ecosystem. Meaning that even used on top of each other, Bioderma products will complement each other in taking care of your face.
